- Houston defeated UTEP in the Conference-USA championship game, meaning C-USA will now be a two-bid league and the Miners will now take away an at-large bid.
- Temple blew out Rhode Island, which did not have an impressive last statement to the Selection Committee. The Rams might be out.
- Illinois couldn't hold on in regulation or overtime to beat Ohio State, meaning the Fighting Illini will be sweating on Selection Sunday. They still will likely get in, but a win today would have clinched it. They need to hope Utah State beats New Mexico State.
- Vermont (America East) and Morgan State (MEAC) won the automatic bids from their respective conferences.
