Northeast Conference Tournament Preview

Monmouth and Fairleigh Dickinson were fighting for the regular season title to the very end, and Monmouth won it outright on the last day. There were four other teams with double figure wins in conference play.
Favorites: Monmouth is very balanced, and has Blake Hamilton, their only double figure scorer. They have the best defense in the league. Fairleigh Dickinson has a great inside-outside combo in Tamien Trent and Gordon Klaiber, and Chad Timberlake provides a solid third option. Robert Morris is short on players, but has Chaz McCrommon, one of the best players in the league.
Sleepers: St. Francis (NY) has a great balance between offense and defense, is led by Tory Cavalieri (22 ppg last four games). Wagner has won nine of their last ten heading into the tournament.
Prediction: Fairleigh Dickinson is the most talented team and has the most weapons. Monmouth just does not have the scoring ability, in my opinion. Wagner is going to cause problems, however.
